Traveling the world and being exposed to new cultures, expanding your horizons beyond your hometown, creating memories you will never forget – these are wonderful sentiments that I wanted to bring to this rebranding of Hostelling International. The current logo felt too constrained to the summer camp realm and was falling short of conveying the worldwide experience that comes with staying in a hostel. I gave the brand a long-awaited and necessary facelift, incorporating the ideas of global adventure and an openness to other cultures while keeping the signature orange and blue colors recognized worldwide.
